The Women in Health Program empowers female athletes across India to excel in both sport and health. Through practical workshops, continuous tracking, and evidence-based support, it strengthens athletes and coaches across key areas including puberty, menstrual health, nutrition, breast and pelvic health, and mental wellbeing—promoting lasting performance and participation.
We empower girls to understand and manage their menstrual health, including PMS and other menstrual disorders. Sessions cover puberty changes, menstrual hygiene, breast and pelvic health, and practical guidance on using period products confidently and safely. Athletes also learn to recognize red, orange, and green flags, helping them take timely action, seek support when needed, and maintain confidence, well-being, and consistent participation in sports.
Female athletes have unique nutritional needs—they are not smaller versions of male athletes. Our Female Athlete Nutrition program provides tailored guidance to support both health and performance.
The program emphasizes the connection between nutrition, menstrual health, and athletic performance, helping athletes make informed food choices during training and competition. It equips athletes and coaches to recognize early signs of under-fueling and nutrient deficiencies, offers safe, evidence-based supplementation guidance, and provides practical strategies to optimize nutrition within available resources.
Female athletes face unique mental health challenges shaped by biological, social, and cultural factors. The Mental Health for Women in Sport vertical is dedicated to raising awareness and equipping athletes and coaches with tools to build resilience and emotional well-being.
It emphasises the connection between mental health, performance, and overall well-being, while addressing issues such as body image, confidence, stigma, and burnout. By providing practical strategies to manage stress, pressure, and setbacks, the program fosters safe sporting environments where both performance and mental health are equally valued.
We conduct interactive health workshops focusing on three key areas: menstruation, nutrition, and mental health. Each session includes baseline data collection and pre-post assessments, ensuring a science-backed, measurable approach. By combining evidence-based content with practical activities, our workshops equip girls with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed decisions and take charge of their health.
After our workshops, we offer a tracker program to help girls and coaches turn learning into action. Our WhatsApp-based Simply Berry tracker, co-developed with femtech company Cranberry, provides routine reports, while our custom tracker covers nutrition, menstruation, and mental health, giving actionable steps to improve performance. For low-resource settings, we offer the “Meri Khel Yatra” pen-and-paper diary, supporting habit building, engagement, and ongoing monitoring.
We produce data and insights from our workshops, tracker program and academic research. In terms of academic research, we are jointly currently writing a paper on menstrual cycle phases and performance. This is been done in collaboration with the Badminton World Federation and Manipal University.
We create and customise various kinds of educational resources for our partners and collaborators. We recently launched the Simply Periods handbook in collaboration with BWF AND Liverpool John Moores University
Through the support of our donors and CSR partners, we are improving access to menstrual hygiene and cleanliness for female athletes across India. Our initiatives focus on distributing essential period products, including sanitary pads and other hygiene solutions to ensure that every athlete can train and compete with comfort and confidence.
These partnerships go beyond product access. They represent a shared effort to break taboos, promote menstrual health awareness, and create a sporting environment where hygiene and dignity are seen as integral to performance.
We design school-based sports and movement programs that empower girls to stay active, healthy, and confident. Our modules focus on age-appropriate physical activities, fitness development, injury prevention, and overall well-being, while creating a safe and inclusive environment. Through these programs, we help girls build strength, resilience, and lifelong healthy habits, using schools as a key space for access and participation.
We equip educators, coaches, and community leaders with the skills and tools to deliver our health programs effectively—ensuring sustainable, scalable impact for girls and communities.
